I’ve been hosting karaoke events across San Diego for 15+ years. At Sunset Karaoke, my job is simple: make sure everyone feels comfortable, confident, and ready to shine on stage. Whether you’re singing your first note or your hundredth, I’m here to cheer you on. I believe everyone deserves a moment in the spotlight. That’s why I created Sunset Karaoke—a free, judgment-free space where the San Diego community comes together through music.

Take Your Voice To Another Level
Our voice and singing lessons offer comprehensive training for students of all ages and skill levels. In a group setting PRO instructors use a combination of technical exercises, performance techniques, and individualized feedback to help students develop their vocal range, control, and expression.
With a focus on vocal health, the program covers a wide range of musical styles, including classical, pop, rock, and musical theater, and our students have the opportunity to perform in regular recitals and showcases. Whether you’re a beginner looking to discover your voice or a seasoned performer seeking to refine your skills, our instructors are dedicated to helping you reach your training goals.
Questions About Sunset Karaoke?
Everyone is welcome! Sunset Karaoke is an all-ages event. Children (8+), teens, adults, and families can all perform and attend. Parents with young kids often bring blankets and make it a family night. There’s no age limit—whether you’re 8 or 80, you belong on the stage at North Park Recreation Center.
We have over 5,000 songs in our library covering all genres—pop, rock, R&B, country, hip-hop, Latin, Disney classics, and more. You can browse the song list before the event and request your favorite. Don’t see your song? Let us know and we’ll do our best to add it for next month’s Sunset Karaoke at North Park.
Don’t worry! North Park Recreation Center has a covered amphitheater structure. The stage and seating area are protected from rain. In case of severe weather (thunderstorms), we’ll postpone to the following weekend and announce via email and social media. We’ll keep you updated—just make sure you’re on our mailing list.
Yes! North Park Recreation Center has ample parking available.
Bring blankets, lawn chairs, and a positive attitude! You’re welcome to bring snacks for personal use. We have food vendors and beverage stands available for purchase at the event. Outside alcohol is not permitted. Arrive early to get a good spot—the amphitheater fills up fast!
Each performance is typically 3-4 minutes. This lets more people get on stage and keeps the energy flowing. You can sing solo or with friends. If you want to perform a duet or group song, just let the sound team know when you sign up.
You can! There’s no rule against multiple people singing the same song—in fact, it’s pretty fun when you both get on stage. Just know that we space out performances throughout the night, so you’ll likely perform at different times. Come ready to have fun and celebrate with the San Diego community at North Park.
